National Security my arse

Ian Spiers tells a chilling tale about his experience while taking some photographs at the Ballard Locks in Seattle -- a public park, and highly-trafficked tourist site. It embarrasses, angers, and saddens me that this would happen to someone in North America -- a place where many only dream about living, and the continent on which I live. While this did not happen in my country, per se, Seattle is a mere three-hour drive from Vancouver, and it scares me that this sort of thing is happening so close to home. With the Conservative Party gaining power (they hold more seats in British Columbia than all other parties), it worries and frightens me that what is happening in the US is a preview of would might happen here. Perhaps all of the crazy right-wingers should band together, and build their own island/country where they can be as racist and own as many guns as their shriveled-up hearts can desire.
